About RAMIS Consulting

An engineering practice built around Weibull failure physics, ISO 14224 data hygiene, and the logistical realities of operating heavy industrial assets in West Africa.

Practice Thesis · Quantitative Reliability & Field Execution

Why West African Maintenance Programs Stall and How We Fix Them

Across West African gold mines, offshore oil and gas facilities, and thermal power stations, the same three structural failure modes repeatedly stall industrial maintenance organizations:

1. Unstandardized SAP PM and IBM Maximo failure codes. Most operations in Ghana have paid for tier-one CMMS licenses, but technicians close work orders with free-text notes like “fixed leak” or “replaced bearing.” Without an ISO 14224 failure mode and mechanism hierarchy, reliability engineers cannot separate infant mortality ($\beta < 1$) from wear-out ($\beta > 1$).

2. OEM maintenance manuals written for temperate supply chains. Equipment vendors write preventive maintenance schedules assuming clean ambient air, stable grid power, and 48-hour spare-parts delivery. Those intervals break down when assets operate in abrasive laterite dust on the Tarkwa and Obuasi gold belt or high-saline marine humidity in the Gulf of Guinea.

3. Six-to-sixteen-week Tema and Takoradi port lead times. When a critical SAG mill pinion bearing, crusher eccentric bushing, or gas compressor dry-gas seal takes 6 to 16 weeks to clear customs at Tema port, calendar guesswork forces sites into two bad outcomes: either catastrophic stock-outs costing $60,000 to $120,000 per hour in deferred production, or bloated warehouse working capital tied up in slow-moving parts.

RAMIS Consulting (a subsidiary of JE3 GBADAM LLC) was established to solve those three problems with quantitative engineering. We do not sell condition monitoring hardware, and we do not pitch generic management slide decks. We clean your CMMS history, fit Weibull and Crow-AMSAA models to your failure modes, and hand over load-ready PM task lists and spares reorder parameters that your site team can run independently.

Operating Charter

Four Non-Negotiable Practice Rules

01 · No Unvalidated Interval Changes

We never shorten or extend a preventive maintenance interval without fitting a Weibull distribution ($\beta, \eta$) or documenting a P-F interval per SAE JA1011.

02 · Spares Tied to Port Lead Time

Every critical spare min/max calculation incorporates actual 6-to-16-week maritime transit and customs clearance times through Tema and Takoradi ports.

03 · Native Deliverables in Your Stack

Engagements conclude with native ReliaSoft files and SAP PM or IBM Maximo upload sheets, not a static PDF report left on a shelf.

04 · Zero Hardware Commissions

RAMIS takes zero referral fees or reseller margins from sensor, lubrication, or software vendors. Recommendations are strictly engineering-driven.

Principal & Senior Engineering Team

Leadership Team

Every RAMIS engagement is scoped and executed directly by senior reliability and asset integrity engineers with operating experience across Ghana and the Gulf of Guinea.

Charles Duah

Lead Reliability Engineer & Principal Consultant

Charles Duah has 8+ years of mining maintenance planning and reliability engineering experience on the Ghana gold belt. He previously served as Reliability Planner at AngloGold Ashanti's Obuasi Mine and Newmont's Ahafo Mine, leading Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) fleet availability tracking, SAP PM work-order taxonomy audits per ISO 14224, and rotables spares forecasting around Tema port transit lead times.

Dr. Joshua Afari

Asset Integrity Specialist & Senior Consultant

Dr. Joshua Afari is a metallurgy and structural integrity specialist with 10+ years of offshore and midstream experience across the Gulf of Guinea. He holds a Ph.D. in Metallurgy and leads quantitative Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programs per API 580/581, Fitness-For-Service (FFS) assessments per API 579-1 / ASME FFS-1, and Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) mitigation on FPSO topside process trains and tank farms.
